All three certifications carry their own specific value which is beneficial to our customers, vendors and employees alike.
ISO 9001
ISO 9001 is the international standard for a quality management system. In order to maintain certification China Precision Parts Corp. must follow the requirements set forth in the ISO 9001 Standard. ISO 9001 is not a standard for the products we make, however it is a “process-based standard”. We use these standards to control our processes thus resulting in an end product that meets customer desired results. Research shows that holding an ISO 9001 certification results in better documentation, cost benefits and improved involvement and communication with management. Organizations work in a more efficient way as all of their processes are aligned and understood by everyone. This increases productivity and efficiency, bringing internal costs down.
ISO 13485
ISO 13485 is the medical device industry’s most widely used international standard for quality management. Adopting ISO 13485 provides a practical foundation to address the requirements necessary as well as demonstrating a commitment to the safety and quality of medical devices.
ISO 13485 is a stand-alone standard however it is based on many of the ISO 9001 standards. ISO 13485 simply focuses on medical devices. This standard amplifies the quality management system putting more requirements on the management team when it comes to implementing and monitoring the daily processes, continued training of employees and continual improvement.
AS9100 (Estimated completion in Fall of 2020)
Our AS9100 Certification is currently in process. AS9100 is a widely adopted and standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry. This standard fully incorporates the entirety of the current version of ISO 9001, while adding requirements relating to quality and safety. Many major aerospace manufactures and suppliers worldwide require compliance and/or registration to AS9100 as a condition of doing business with them. The AS9100 standard puts specific emphasis on risk management, requirement conformance, delivery performance and the elimination of recurring corrective actions.
